Villanova College

We had Joshua come to Villa as part of our Inclusivity Unit with our Year 10 students, and from the moment he began speaking, I knew it was going to be a success. He connected exceptionally well with the boys, who hung on his every word throughout the session. This is no easy feat with roughly 200 adolescent boys.

Joshua shared his personal experiences in a way that brought the important wellbeing skill of resilience to life. Rather than speaking about resilience as an abstract concept, he showed students what it looks like in practice and how it can help people overcome significant challenges.

The feedback from students and staff was overwhelmingly positive. Joshua's story was powerful, authentic and highly relevant to the challenges young people face today.

We will certainly be inviting Joshua back to speak with other year levels and look forward to making him a regular part of our wellbeing program moving forward.
