Mindfulness gets talked about a lot, but most people still picture it as something you do sitting cross‑legged on a mountain, breathing like a monk. That version is great if you’ve got the time, the view, and the robe… but for most young people, life doesn’t look like that.
Life looks like school deadlines, group chats that never stop, friendships that shift overnight, and a brain that sometimes feels like it’s running three marathons at once.
That’s why I teach a different angle.
Mindfulness, in the real world, is simply the ability to notice what’s happening inside you before it drags you somewhere you don’t want to go. It’s not about being calm all the time. It’s about being aware enough to choose your next move instead of reacting on autopilot.
